On Saturday, September 21, 2025, the Happy Grove High School Environmental Club participated in International Coastal Cleanup Day at Bryan’s Bay Beach, right here in Port Antonio.
The group of dedicated students and volunteers worked tirelessly to restore the beach, collecting over 290 plastic bottles and filling around 10 large garbage bags with litter. From discarded plastics to food containers hidden among the trees, no piece of trash was left behind.

The cleanup was not only about removing garbage but also about learning responsibility, teamwork, and care for our environment. By taking part in this international movement, our students demonstrated their commitment to protecting Jamaica’s coastline and preserving its natural beauty for generations to come.
This successful effort is a proud moment for the school, showing that when our students come together with purpose, they can make a real difference.

Happy Grove High celebrates the Environmental Club for their leadership and hard work on this important project. Photos from the cleanup are included below to highlight the day’s accomplishments.
Together, we are building a culture of care, pride, and responsibility at Happy Grove School.
