On November 30, 2025, a community outreach visit was carried out at Happy Grove Primary and Infant School, located in the New Market area of St. Elizabeth. The initiative formed part of ongoing recovery and support efforts following the impact of Hurricane Melissa, which affected several communities across Jamaica.
The visit was led by Acting Principal Devon Wilson and Vice Principal Rose Marie Walker Bernard of Happy Grove High School, accompanied by members of staff and friends of the school. Through the collective efforts of teachers, students, parents, and community supporters, care packages were prepared and presented to assist the primary and infant school during the post-hurricane period.
Both institutions proudly share the Happy Grove name, and this outreach reflected the strong bond and sense of responsibility that exists between them. Contributions from students and parents of Happy Grove High School, along with the dedication of staff and community members, made it possible to give meaningful support to their sister school during a time of need.
The care packages were formally received by Mr. Stewart, a teacher at Happy Grove Primary and Infant School, on behalf of the administration and school community. The presentation took place in a spirit of unity, compassion, and shared purpose.
The outreach initiative was well received and deeply appreciated by the staff, students, and residents of the wider New Market community. It highlighted the importance of partnership, resilience, and community involvement in supporting education, particularly in the aftermath of natural disasters.
Happy Grove High School remains committed to community engagement and to standing in support of its feeder schools. The institution continues to encourage service, generosity, and collaboration as essential values in building stronger schools and communities across St. Elizabeth.
